The Tomatin Cu Bocan 1988 with 51.5% volume is a smoky single malt whiskey from the Scottish Highlands. It is a limited edition of 2,200 bottles. The Tomatin Cu Bocan was distilled in 1988. The New Make Spirit then rested in ex-sherry casks for 28 years. A well-known Islay single malt whiskey used to mature in these, which left smoky and peaty traces in the barrel with the sherry aromas. The distinctive Islay aromas, as well as the sherry notes, are evident in the Tomatin Cu Bocan. They naturally flavored the Highland Malt. The Tomatin Cu Bocan was bottled in 2016 at cask strength, with 51.5% volume. The distillery dispensed with chill filtration. The Cu Bocan 1988 already shows the Islay notes of smoke and sweet ash in the nose in addition to fruity aromas and fresh grain. On the palate it comes with an earthy, tropically sweet taste and ends with creamy, spicy oak and smoke notes.
