On the nose, this profound Islay malt unfolds a complex interplay of pronounced fireplace smoke, a delicate sea breeze, and a distinct maritime saltiness, elegantly underpinned by soft vanilla, light shortbread, and ripe, juicy orchard fruits.
What does Ardnahoe Japan Exclusive 2019 Bourbon Barrel #1374 taste like?
On the palate, the whisky is wonderfully powerful, creamy, and oily, with the intense peat notes harmoniously blending with a pronounced caramel sweetness, ripe pears, and subtle herbal spice. Despite its natural cask strength, the alcohol is remarkably elegantly integrated, creating a dense, gripping texture on the tongue.
The long and intensely warming finish concludes with a lingering, slightly bacon-like peat smoke, a hint of salted caramel, and a delicate nuance of dark cocoa and fresh citrus fruits.
