This exclusive single cask bottling from the Islay distillery Ardnahoe was released as a special edition for Whiskyhort Oberhausen. Distilled in 2019, this single malt matured for seven years in an intensely distinctive Oloroso sherry quarter cask, number 140. The smaller cask volume intensified the contact with the wood, lending remarkable depth to the distillate, which was traditionally condensed using worm tubs.

The aroma is captivating, with dry sherry notes that blend harmoniously with hints of old suede, subtle wood smoke, and flambéed raw cane sugar. Over time, notes of grated dark chocolate and roasted hazelnuts become increasingly prominent. On the palate, this single malt presents a powerful attack, revealing a distinctive, ashy, and deliberately gritty peat smoke, balanced by a creamy texture. Here, aromas of roasted hazelnuts, dark chocolate, and aged leather reappear, rounded off by the delicate sweetness of crème brûlée.
