Ron Vigia 21 Anos Antigua Reserva reads on the bottle of the rum from the heart of Cuba. There the rum was put together by the Master Blender of the Tecnoazucar Distillery. How long it matures exactly is not known. It is believed to have been in oak barrels for around eleven years. After this procedure was completed, the way to Europe was taken and thus also to Germany. A plaque with the Anos indication 21 was hung on the bottle. In 2018, however, only the Ron Vigia 18 was produced in the Distillery. That is why the Ron Vigia 21 is now a rarity and difficult to obtain. The Ron Mulata, Ron Vacilion and Santero Rum are also produced in the distillery.

Produced by TecnoAcuzar, Ron Vigia 21 Anos produces around 4,500 bottles a year. The rum is made from sugar syrup instead of molasses. The rum is stored in 180 liter ex-bourbon barrels. The rum is light brown and has toffee and tobacco on the nose. You can also smell slightly floral notes. In the taste grassy notes, vanilla and oak. The rum from Cuba has little sweetness. In terms of age, Ron Vigia should be around 11 years old. There is no exact data on this. Judging the rum is difficult. It is a typical Cuban rum that can definitely be drunk neat.
