The DDL company, which can be traced back to the 17th century, has been producing rum in the region of the historic Demerara River for centuries. DDL`s El Dorado rums are famous around the world for their quality and complexity. The historic distillery facilities, which the company also owns, are an important part of the production. DDL has some of the oldest wooden pot stills and coffey stills in the world, which contribute significantly to their unique taste. The Demerara River, on whose banks DDL`s facilities are located, as well as the mineral-rich soils of the region ensure the quality of the sugar cane used for the rum.
