On the rugged coast of the unique Isle of Skye, south of Dunvagan, directly on the shore of a bay, lies the snow-white small distillery Talisker. Two brothers founded the distillery in 1831. After their death, numerous others tried to continue the distillery. All failed until a finance manager and a wine and spirits merchant took over. Talisker was branded three times until 1928, after that only twice. After a fire in 1960, the distillery was rebuilt true to the original. Today Talisker belongs to the Diageo spirits company.
Talisker Port Ruighe bears the Old Gaelic name of the trading port of Portree on the Scottish island of Skye.
Scottish merchants landed here in the 19th century, bringing back from their trip the then still unknown sweet port wine from Portugal.
The island`s whiskey makers quickly realized how old port casks enriched the aroma of their products and began using it to refine the aroma of their single malts.
Talisker has not forgotten this tradition to this day and is now presenting Port Ruighe, a whiskey that is refined at the end of its maturation process by being stored in port casks.

Color: Dark amber gold.
Nose: Balanced, sweet, sweet smoke, fruits, ripe plums.
Flavour: Soft, smoky, spicy pepper, peat smoke, notes of spices, dark fruits.
Finish: Long lasting, cocoa, smoke.
