This is the fourth edition in Lochlea's First Crop series in 2023, to be released with Plowing the Barley.

Ploughing is Lochlea's first-ever smoky release and the first smoky whiskey to be made by her Master Blender John Campbell has been in production since he left Laphroaig in 2021. Lochlea's unpeated spirit has been matured in a combination of casks and quarter casks that previously held peated Islay malt whiskey. These casks impart a subtle smokiness to the fruity spirit, resulting in a warming dram perfect for the cold winter months.
