Laphroaig is a whiskey distillery on the Scottish Hebrides island of Islay and is owned by the Japanese-American Beam Suntory group. The distillery buildings are on the Scottish National Registers. When making Laphroaig, malted barley is dried over a peat fire. The smoke from this peat, only found on Islay, gives Laphroaig its particularly rich flavor.
This Laphroaig is based on the classic Laphroaig 10 Years Old. This whiskey is finished in Oloroso Sherry casks.
