Official Ardbeg Tasting Notes:

Nose: The smoothest peat, yet deep and confident with an alluring sweetness - a heady blend of malt and vanillin. Vaguely salty and very complex with oak present but very contained. Just a hint of bourbon and even a faint hint of tangy orange to broaden the spectrum.

Palate: On the palate, peat is much more present than the nose suggests. The smokiness hits the palate quickly and then tapers off. That said, the middle shows an excellent chewy malt alongside hints of cocoa. The peat returns and guarantees an enormously long finish. The malt flavor lingers and notes of liquorice and dry toast are evident. This form of oak lasts but never becomes succulent or too dry as the peat balances this beautifully
