The Penny Blue 2011 Single Sherry Cask No. 238 Mauritian Rum is a strictly limited single estate rum that comes from the Medine Distillery based on the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. As is usual with Penny Blue rums, this rum was also made exclusively from sugar cane from the company's own plantation. It was distilled in 2011 from high-quality molasses after careful fermentation in the column still process and then stored for about 10 years in a former sherry cask with the number 238. The bottling took place without cold filtration and the addition of coloring with a total of only 216 bottles. The molasses rum from Mauritius, matured for several years in sherry casks, offers a rich taste with notes of dried fruits and a slightly spicy note as well as an expressive character.
