When a barrel is nearing its end, they shake and squeeze it with all their might to ensure that not a drop of this precious liquid remains. Luckily they have laid their hands on this 22 year old rum from Caroni! A release of 65 bottles from the closed but certainly not forgotten distillery in Trinidad.

How does Caroni 22 Year Old Forgotten Gems Rum taste?

The nose features notes of burnt brown sugar and sticky-sweet grilled pineapple, supported by earthy, creamy vanilla bean, tobacco, leather and hints of rubbery oak.

The palate presents a dense, liquid combination of caramel and vanilla, supported by rich, leathery oak, while earthy nuances of maple syrup and steeped tea lie underneath.

The finish is accompanied by warming baking spices, with sweet hints of dried berries accompanied by molasses, oily walnuts and crushed peppercorns.
