César Marti has perfected the craft of aging and blending aguardientes, which are exceptionally fragrant Cuban sugarcane spirits made from molasses distilled to a robust 75% alcohol by volume. These aguardientes are aged in white oak barrels previously used to age whiskey. After this initial aging process, they are artfully blended with fine Cuban rum distilled to a high alcohol content of 95% and then subjected to a second round of aging. His most recent experiment culminated in the creation of the Eminente Gran Reserva N° 1 10 Años.

How does Eminente Gran Reserva N° 1 taste?

Aroma: The initiating fragrance profile presents itself with the attractive nuances of freshly roasted coffee, red fruits and delicate flowers. These aromas are gently accompanied by hints of honey and vanilla, giving the whole thing a graceful, almost minty freshness.

Taste: The palate reveals a harmonious, supple and profound composition with a fruity character, this time dominated by dried apricots and the sweet scent of orange blossom. Subtle notes of sandalwood, hazelnut and allspice play a special role.

Finish: The finish is silky, lingering and sweet, with the spicy character of the Sichuan pepper clearly emerging. This leaves impressions of caramel, pine sap and saffron that perfect the finish.
