The Macallan Rare Cask was released in 2014 as a new addition to the company`s 1824 Masters Series with core expressions.
It owes its name to the extremely rare Spanish Sherry oak casks that are hand selected by the Macallan Distillery`s Master Distiller. This specially selected oak has helped mature this single malt Scotch whiskey into an enormously complex dram, with alternating layers of fruit, sweet chocolate and smooth vanilla.
