The Bacardi 8 year old is a particularly fine product from the world-famous rum producer based in Bermuda. Bacardi 8 Anos, Bacardi 8 Year or simply Bacardi 8 - the maturing time plays a decisive role in the designation in all languages. Don`t let the number fool you. Eight years sounds comparatively short at first. Especially when you look at whiskeys and cognacs, which were allowed to spend many times this time in wooden barrels. However, one must not forget that the maturation of this Caribbean rum takes place under the Caribbean sun and in a hot tropical climate. This accelerates the maturing process immensely, so that the rum can absorb a variety of aromas from the wood of the barrel. American white oak barrels are used for barrel aging. The rum is distilled from molasses in Bermuda and then filled into the barrels as a fresh distillate.
