The Rising Reserve series consists of a range of 5 different releases featuring hand-picked casks of the oldest and most interesting single malt from Teeling whiskey's warehouse.
The second edition of the Rising Reserve series consists of a 21-year-old single malt, which matured in former bourbon barrels for the first 18 years before being refined for three years in fine Marsala barrels. This double maturation and especially the long refinement time in the Sicilian liqueur wine barrels gives the whiskey unmistakable dark fruit notes and orchard fruits, paired with a cinnamon-like spice from brown sugar.
The Rising Reserve Series 2 took home the Masters top prize in the highly competitive Single Malt category at the 2023 Irish Whiskey Masters Awards.

What does Teeling Whiskey 21 Years Old Rising Reserve - No. 2?

Nose: A gentle sweetness of vanilla combines smoothly with baked apricots, tobacco and intense spice and fruit notes. Sweet Seville oranges and roasted almonds are subtly highlighted.

Palate: The consistency is creamy and a pleasantly warming mouthfeel develops. Brown sugar and preserved fruit appear on the scene at the beginning, followed by delicate oak tannins and a hint of cinnamon spice.

Finish: The finish is persistent and full-bodied, with floral notes of Bach flowers and rich nuances of Demerara sugar, citrus fruits and spices.
