This Tomatin was aged for 10 years in American oak ex-Bourbon casks and then transferred to casks that previously held Portuguese Moscatel wine. A very rare cask that is hard to find for whiskey aging.
Nose: Toasted pine nuts and caramel. Dried apricots and mango with milk chocolate and roasted grains.
Palate: Citrus and figs, followed by hot cross buns and vanilla spice.
Finish: Apple strudel and shortbread.
