Like a storm gathering off the Kintyre coast, 15-year-old Springbank is dark and menacing, but delicious. Best enjoyed after dinner or with your favorite cigar, this is a real classic.

Springbank's Gentle Giant. This dram is big and bold with notes of salt beef, grilled beef jerky, clove, mint, iodine, oxo cubes and canned plum, all resulting from the Oloroso cask aging.

The finish grows and develops with notes of soot, leather and walnuts before fading like the ebb tide over one of Kintyre's shingle beaches.

Springbank is a Campbelltown distillery that dates back to 1828 – though the roots of the place go back much deeper into the history of Scotch whisky.
