Smokehead Sherry Cask Blast Release 2021 is a powerful and smoky single malt Scotch whiskey from the island of Islay in western Scotland, launched in autumn 2021 by Scottish company Ian MacLeod. This is a limited bottling of the whiskey brand Smokehead. The whiskey was first stored in ex-bourbon casks and then finished in carefully selected Spanish Oloroso sherry casks. It shows intense smoky notes on the nose paired with aromas of dried fruits, vanilla and oak. On the palate, the Limited Edition is full-bodied and explosive with intense aromas of smoke accompanied by sweet notes of grilled bananas, dark dried fruits and sultanas. The finish of the Smokehead Sherry Cask Blast Release 2021, which comes in a case with the brand's typical skull and crossbones label, is impressive with an intense smoky note, but also sweet tones of sherry and a maritime salty note.
