Mortlach releases the 2018 Dufftown trio featuring a 12-year-old, 16-year-old and 20-year-old whiksy.
The 12-year-old Mortlach is distilled in so-called Wee Witchie stills. Storage takes place in former sherry casks made from European oak and former bourbon casks made from American oak.
The number 2.81 on the label represents the number of distillations. Mortlach manages to distil his whiskey 2.81 times.

The process, also referred to by Mortlach as 'The Way', begins with a still using six different stills and 1/5 of them Distilled a third time through another small still called Wee Witchie.

Nose: Intense, strong, oak aromas, toasted notes, caramel, berries.
Flavour: Dense, sweet, spicy, cherry aromas, tobacco, sugar cane, vanilla, dark chocolate.
Finish: Long-lasting, dry.
