Mac-Talla «Feis Ile 2024» Rum Cask was bottled by Mac-Talla to celebrate Fèis Ìle 2024. The whisky was first matured in bourbon barrels for ten years before being refined for a further five years in Caribbean rum barrels.
What does Mac-Talla «Feis Ile 2024» Rum Cask 2009/2024 taste like?
The nose presents a rich bouquet of butterscotch and delicate oak, accompanied by sweet honey and the fruitiness of candied apricots. A hint of salty peat smoke adds a maritime depth reminiscent of the proximity of the sea. The tropical notes created by maturing in former rum barrels give the nose an exotic, warm note.
On the palate, the Mac-Talla Rum Cask unfolds a soft taste of salted caramel and banana foam, reminiscent of sweet treats. These are complemented by the aroma of a smoky beach campfire and a hint of cinnamon, which gives the whisky a spicy warmth.
The finish is characterized by a distinct maritime saltiness that harmonizes perfectly with the tropical fruit notes. The maturation in rum barrels leaves a seductive trace of exotic freshness and depth that lingers for a long time and rounds off the taste.
