The inspiration for this new series, where the Glen Scotia 12 Years Old The Mermaid is the first release, comes from individual symbols of the cross. Glen Scotia Whiskey strongly reflects the coastal climate, and sightings of mermaids along the coast were a fascinating topic, particularly in the 19th century.

For the initial release, a twelve-year-old single malt whiskey was selected that was finished in Palo Cortado sherry casks - a rare and special choice that gives the drink a unique flavor.

How does Glen Scotia 12 Years Old The Mermaid taste?
The nose of this whiskey reveals aromas of sea salt, seaweed, fruity tarte tatin, jam and toffee. The taste is creamy and sweet with hints of apple tart and a slightly salty note. The finish is long-lasting.

Glen Scotia, the story
Glen Scotia whiskeys are produced in the distillery of the same name, which opened its doors in 1832. Based in Campbeltown, this distillery has been producing outstanding single malts for almost two centuries. The close proximity to the sea, just a short distance from the island of Islay, shapes the character of their whiskeys, which often have maritime and salty notes.
