The heavily peated malts from the Edradour distillery are called 'Ballechin'.
Whether matured in a second or first fill bourbon cask, ex-manzanilla cask or rum cask, Ballechin proves year after year that it is a great peated single malt.
This version, aged in a former Burgundy cask, adds more than just another stone to the edifice begun in 2002.
The aroma palette is already a true masterpiece, with every note hitting the perfect note. And then there's the flavor palette, which is boundlessly natural, with a lyric built on a masterful precision and complexity surpassed only by its desire for simplicity and transparency.

Nose: Oily, greasy, balsamic cedar, vinous peat, fruity apricots, floral rose petals.
Flavour: Apricots, coconuts, chocolate, dry peat, salty arnica.
Finish: Long-lasting, dark chocolate, gentian, oily peat, malt.
