The Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old Islay Single Malt Whiskey is not quite as peaty and overpowering as a Laphroaig or Ardbeg. The Bunnahabhain 12 year old has a light, fresh aroma with a touch of sea air and a pinch of smoke. The taste is sweet with nuts and malty with some peat. The finish is very fruity.
In contrast to many other Islay single malt whiskeys, it has significantly less peat and smoke in the taste. And this is what sets the Bunnahabhain 12 apart. The Islay Whiskey received the Silver Medal with the rating Outstanding at the IWSC in 2013 and 2016. Also silver at the Scotch Whiskey Masters 2017.
The Bunnahabhain 12 years received the best award with the Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
