Bruichladdich Octomore Edition 9.1 is a super peat whiskey from Bruichladdich Distillery on Islay, matured in first fill ex-bourbon casks and boasting an impressive peat content of 156ppm. This bottling belongs to the series that was released in September 2018. Ash, citrus fruits, mussels and wood spices are noticeable on the nose, while the taste is dominated by intense peat, cigars, lime and vanilla. The finish is long and extremely smoky, which is not surprising considering the characteristics.
