What does Ardnahoe Càraid Ìleach #1 taste like? The bouquet opens with intense notes of cocoa, fresh orange, dark cherries, and smoky ash. On the palate, roasted nuts, moist gingerbread, and nutmeg unfold, before a rich, warming finish with leather and maritime Islay smoke fades away.

The bouquet is characterized by red berries, gently stewed plums, and candied orange peel, underpinned by a salty peat note. On the palate, sultanas, fully ripe figs, and cinnamon follow, carried by a long-lasting, pleasantly warming finish with a delicate smokiness.

“Càraid Ìleach” (Car-ich Ee-luch) is Scottish Gaelic and means “the Islay pair.” This name is given to the Sherry Quarter Cask expressions, which matured exclusively in Sherry Quarter casks.
