One of the first two releases of a double-aged product, 100% aged in the distillery. This rum was distilled in 2010 and aged for 8 years in ex-Bourbon American white oak casks. This was followed by 2 years in ex-Ruby Port casks for added depth and complexity.

Tasting Notes: In the glass the rum is a lustrous dark brown with a slight hint of orange. On the nose, sweet caramel is the first sensation, mixed with tropical fruit notes: banana and noseberry come to mind. This is followed by a more bitter aroma reminiscent of red wine. That caramel-like sweetness wears off with the first sip, however. The fruit flavors envelop your mouth, gradually giving way to a pleasant warming sensation, punctuated by dried fruits such as raisins. The finish shows the distinct influence of the port cask as the more astringent flavor of the red comes through and complements the initial sweetness nicely, giving the rum an overall good feel.
