Bourbon casks made of American white oak are used, which have been burned out and filled with triple distilled rum. Then they let it rest and mature. The burnt casks play an important role in shaping the rum aroma, helping to release the vanilla, tannin and caramel sugar aromas. Aging in these casks also softens the flavor and gives the rum the full golden color characteristic of these products.
