The Helios distillery has a surprisingly long history. The company was founded by Tadashi Matsuda in 1961 when Japan was in dire economic straits after World War II. The distillery was built in the Okinawa region of Japan (a cluster of islands located south of mainland Japan).
The rum is made from fermented sugar cane juice, giving it a certain resemblance to the Agricole gives style. The bottling of Kiyomi White Rum is fermented for 30 days giving a fruity quality and is distilled in a double column still. It rests in steel tanks for six months to ensure purity and batch-to-batch consistency.
Flavoured with hints of tropical fruit and black pepper.
