The AH Riise Distillery is located on St. Thomas Island, an American Virgin Island in the Caribbean.
Before this island became American territory, it was a Danish colony. The pharmacist Albert Heinrich was not only allowed to open a pharmacy around the 1840s, but also to produce alcohol.
Around 150 years ago the pharmacist AH Riise created the Danish West Indian rum under the 'Old St. Croix' brand, today this introduction is honored with the exclusive blend La Galante.
This bottling is named after Columbus' ship Santa Maria La Galante, which he piloted when he discovered St. Croix and the West Indies.
A blend of the finest drops from the West Indies and Central America to capture the essence and flora of the islands.
