Although there is no distillery at the ruins of Finlaggan Castle, this is home to the `Lord of the Isles`. These lend their name to the fine Malt Wiyskys produced by The Vintage Malt Whisky.

Jim Murray says of the Finlaggan Old Reserve: if you don`t get a bottle of this whisky, you will get it for the rest of yours regret life. In his Whiskey Bible he awards 94 out of 100 points.

Nose: Full, pungent, earthy, smoke, hint of ozone.
Flavour: Dry, smoky, fresh, clear and full-bodied.
Finish: Long-lasting, gentle , smoky, oak.

A whiskey tasted somewhere between Lagavulin and Caol Ila.
