5yo Pure Single Rum from an unnamed distillery in Trelawny (Hampden) #001

This rum from rum exchange was distilled in 2013 and classically expanded and tropically matured for 3 years in ex-bourbon barrels. He was allowed to mature for two more years in a continental climate in an ex-Oloroso cask.

Nose:
Deep fruity (plums, dates, syrup), rock candy. Caramel. Followed by notes of ester and salt as well as floral (green) hints, zesty! Oak, leather and a fine note of wood smoke stroll in the background.

Palate:
Many dark fruits (plums, dates, cherries) as well as thick syrup and liquid caramel fight against rich ester notes and salt for supremacy. Again oak, leather and fine wood smoke. Many citrus fruits (oranges, limes, mango) bring a fresh and slightly floral touch.

Finish:
Zesty (orange and lime), plums, dates and a good portion of ester. Salt.


The rum is neither chill filtered nor colored.
